Navy clinch Emirates Airline Dubai Sevens Open Women – Netball Championship 2017
 

The Emirates Airline Dubai Sevens Open Women – Netball Championship 2017 was held in United Arab Emirates from 30 November to 02 December. Representing the country, the netball teams of the Sri Lanka Navy and Western Province took part in the tournament in which 07 more teams from England, Australia, South Africa and United Arab Emirates competed. Sri Lanka Navy netball players performed exceptionally well throughout the tournament that spanned 03 days and got qualified for the finals. In the finals the Navy encountered the Lucky Voice Fusion and beat them comprehensively by 22 points to 15, bringing much credit to the Sri Lanka Navy and country.

The Navy netball team was represented by 12 members whom were well supported by the Chairperson of Navy Netball Pool, Surgeon Captain Nayana Wijedoru, Head Coach Mrs. Sumitha Alwis and Assistant Coach, Mr. Buddhika Suriyabandara.
