Awareness programme on United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea held in Trincomalee
 

An awareness program on legal aspects relating to illegal fishing, immigration, United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) and related acts was held at the Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium in Trincomalee on 02 December 2017. A group of senior legal officers from the Attorney General’s Department of Sri Lanka led by Additional Solicitor General Wasantha Navarathne Bandara conducted this session.

The programme imparted much needed knowledge on legal proceedings, to the naval personnel who often combat illegal acts while performing their duties. The Commandant Naval & Maritime Academy Commodore Kassapa Paul and 50 officers including senior officers from various bases, ships and craft attended the programme.
