Navy divers make sure free water flowing at Bandaththara bridge
A team of Navy divers has been deployed at the Bandaththara bridge in Nadugala today (02 December) to make sure uninterrupted downstream of water in Nilwala river. Accordingly, Navy divers removed the temporary sand bund erected across Nilwala River to rush the water flow.
Following the heavy downpour, the water level of Nilwala river had swollen at an alarming rate due to the sand erection built across the river. As a result, the area was in danger of flooding due to congested downstream of water. Responding swiftly to the situation, the Navy deployed a team of divers attached to the Southern Naval command to address this contingence situation.
