New Commanding Officers take over SLNS Shakthi and SLNS Weeraya
 

Captain (CDO) PrabathFerdinanduz and Lieutenant Commander (ASW) SudeshVidanage assumed duties as Commanding Officer of SLNS Shakthi and SLNS Weeraya today (20 November)

The former Commanding Officers of the ships, Captain (C) MahindaMahawatte and Lieutenant Commander (G) ChandimaShantha handed over the duties to new Commanding Officers in accordance with the naval traditions. SLNS Shakthi’s change over ceremony was held at the No 1 jetty in SLNS Rangalla, Colombo.Deputy Area Commander Western Naval Area, Commodore SanathUthpala was also present on this occasion.

The SLNS Weeraya’s change over ceremony was held at the CNAD Pier in Dockyard, Trincomalee. The proceedings of the ceremonies came to a closure following an inspection of divisions by the former and new Commanding Officers of the respective ships.
