Navy apprehends 10 Indian fishermen for poaching in Sri Lankan territorial waters
 

The Offshore Patrol Vessel SLNS Sagara, during its routine patrol in northern waters, apprehended 10 Indian fishermen along with a fishing trawler for poaching in the Sri Lankan territorial waters northeast of Point Pedro Lighthouse in the early hours of yesterday (16th November).

The apprehended fishermen, trawler and fishing gear were brought to the naval base SLNS Uttara in Kankesanthurai and handed over to the Assistant Fisheries Director of Jaffna for onward legal action.
