INS Sutlej arrives at the Colombo harbour
 

The hydrographic survey ship of the Indian Navy, INS Sutlej arrived at the Colombo harbour yesterday (26 October 2017) in view of conducting the Phase II of the joint oceanographic survey off the coasts of Sri Lanka. Upon her arrival, Sri Lanka Navy received the ship in compliance with naval customs. Defence Attaché to the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka, Captain Ashok Rao was also present on this occasion.

Thereupon, Captain Rao and the Commanding Officer of INS Sutlej, Commander Tribhuvan Singh met with the Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Niraja Attygalle at the Western Naval Command Head Quarters and held discussions on matters pertinent to the survey mission they were going to undertake. Mementoes were also exchanged to signify this occasion.

The Indian and Sri Lanka navies will conduct the Phase II of the joint oceanographic survey off the coasts of Sri Lanka until 21 December 2017. During the ship’s stay in the island, Sri Lanka Navy has organized a range of programmes and activities for the crew members of INS Sutlej.
