Two Korean Navy ships arrive at Colombo port
 

The Korean Navy ships, Kang Gam Chan and Hwacheon arrived at the port of Colombo on a goodwill visit yesterday (26 October 2017). The two ships were welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions, upon their arrival. The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Sri Lanka, Won-sam Chang was also present on this occasion.

Subsequently, the Commander, Cruise Training Task Group, Rear Admiral Yang Yong Mo together with the two Commanding Officers of the ships, Captain Park Chang Joo and Captain Lee Young Oh called on the Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Niraja Attygalle at the Western Naval Command Head Quarters and held cordial discussions on matters of bilateral importance. Mementoes were also exchanged to mark this occasion.

The ships’ crew is scheduled to take part in a number of friendly sports events and other programmes organized by the Sri Lanka Navy during their 4-day official visit to Sri Lanka. The two ships are due to leave for the next port of call on 29th of this month.
