Inter Command Combat Competition 2017 concludes successfully
 

The Inter Command Combat Competition 2017 concluded successfully yesterday (30 September 2017) at the Firing Range of SLNS Shiksha in Poonewa. The Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jayantha de Silva was the chief guest at the closing ceremony. The Deputy Commander North Central Naval Area, Commodore Priyantha Perera, the Director Land Operations and Overall Coordinator of the competition, Commodore Udeni Serasinghe and senior naval officers attached to the Navy Headquarters and the North Central Naval Command were also present on the occasion.

Naval personnel of Special Operations Platoons representing all naval commands took part in the 3-day competition organized by the Combat Training School of SLNS Shiksha. The SOP, side arm firing and three-gun shooting demonstrations added colour to the event giving the spectators an enthralling experience.

The North Central Command was awarded the overall championship in the competition for naval personnel undergoing their basic combat training for the excellence shown in physical fitness, field craft and combat skills. The Eastern Naval Command was the runner-up. In the competition for Special Operations Platoons, the overall championship was awarded to the North Central Naval Command for their exceptional overall performance while the Southern Command was adjudged the runner-up.
