Commander of the Navy delivers speech at Naval War College in Goa
 

Making his first official overseas tour after assuming office, the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Travis Sinniah visited India on 14th September 2017. The salient purpose of this visit was to deliver a speech at the Naval War College in Goa, upon receiving an official invitation. During this tour, he also took time off to visit the Goa Shipyard Ltd (GSL), in a bid to inspect the progress of the Advanced Offshore Patrol Vessel being built for the Sri Lanka Navy.

Upon his arrival at the GSL, the Sri Lankan Navy Chief was warmly received by the Chairman and Managing Director of Goa Shipyard Ltd, Rear Admiral (Rtd.) Shekar Mittal along with its officials. They held cordial discussions reviewing the progress of the ship building process and its remaining work. Marking this significant moment, the Commander of the Navy presented a memento to Rear Admiral Mittal.

Director General Engineering, Commodore Ravindra Ranasinghe, Defence Attaché to Sri Lankan High Commission in India, Commodore Prasanna Hewage and a group of senior officers were present on the occasion. 

On completion of his four day visit, Vice Admiral Sinniah arrived in Sri Lanka yesterday (17 September).
