Sri Lanka Navy assists to eradicate Dengue menace
Sri Lanka Navy provides their active contribution to the ongoing Dengue eradicating programme which is coordinating by the office of the Chief of Defence staff. Accordingly, the three days joint programme which was proceeded by the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Health, was helped by the Sri Lanka Navy, yesterday (03 August)
With the supreme guidance of the Commander of the Navy, Rear Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, representing all the Naval Commands engaged in the three days Dengue eradicating programmes in school premises, in their respective areas. Navy offered their utmost contribution to clean the school premises after the thorough observations.
Accordingly, including 129 Naval personnel to 07 schools from the Northern command, 268 Naval personnel to 14 schools from the Eastern Command, 32 Naval personnel to a school from the South Eastern Command, 55 Naval personnel to 04 school from the Southern Command, 173 Naval personnel to09 schools from the Western Command, 56 Naval personnel to 05 Schools from the North Western Command and 125 Naval personnel to 06 schools from the North Central Command, a total number of 838 Naval personnel provided their invaluable contribution to this noble activity.
Further, the contribution of Dengue menace eradicating programme is one of the charity services that Sri Lanka Navy proceeds. They often provide their contribution, including all the parts of the island, to the programmes that organizing to eradicate the deadly dengue menace. Sri Lanka Navy will to offer their maximum contribution to this national venture in future as well.
