Navy arrests 3 suspects engaged in illegal fishing
 

Naval personnel attached to the North Central Naval Command arrested 3 suspects who engaged in fishing activities using illegal fishing nets in the Vedithalathivu seas yesterday (July,24).

Two traditional boats (Vallam) and 4 illegal fishing nets (300m in length) were also taken into naval custody along with the suspects. The arrested persons, fishing boats and other fishing items were handed over to the Vedithalathivu Fisheries Inspector for further investigations.
