Six suspects including two foreigners apprehended for engaging in spearfishing
 

On receipt of intelligence information to the Navy, Coast Guard personnel attached to the Southern Naval Command in coordination with Tissamaharama Police arrested 6 suspects including 2 foreigners for engaging in spearfishing for recreation yesterday (July, 23). The suspects had used Spear Guns for fishing activities, carried out in the sea area of Yala, Kirinda.

The suspects, 3 Spear Guns and other items used for fishing were handed over to the Tissamaharama Police for onward legal action.
