New Wardroom at SLNS Thambapanni declared open by Commander of the Navy
 

The newly constructed Wardroom of SLNS Thambapanni in Puttalam was ceremonially declared open by the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne today (July, 20). The construction of this three-storeyed building commenced on 30th June 2012. The new building complex is equipped with modern facilities for the comfortable accommodation of naval officers.

To signify this occasion, the Commander of the Navy planted a tree sapling at the location and commended the location excellent construction ability of all naval personnel who contributed in the completion of this new facility.

Commander Northwestern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Rasika Dissanayake, Director General Services, Rear Admiral Nimal Sarathsena, Secretary to Commander of the Navy and Director General Budget and Finance, Rear Admiral Udaya Hettiarachchi were present at the opening ceremony. Further, Deputy Area Commander, Commodore Gunasiri Jayathilaka, Commanding Officer SLNS Thambapanni, Captain Sumithra Fonseka and a cross section of officers from the Northwestern Naval Command also attended this event.
