Navy grants one million rupees compensation to family members of Transport Assistance RSMPN Kumara
The Sri Lanka Navy donated one million rupees as compensation, under the Navy's healthcare scheme, ‘Naviru Saviya,’ to the family members of Transport Assistance RSMPN Kumarawho succumbed to a vehicle accident. The cheque in this regard was handed over to Mr. RS Ariyadasa, the father of the sailor, at his residence in Nikaweratiya, Kurunegala today (July, 17).
The sailor joined the Navy on 05th January 2010 and had served at various establishments before his untimely accident at the age of 30. He had last served attached to the SLNS Thambapanni in the Puttalam.
"Naviru Saviya" is a health care scheme, which operates as a non-public fund under the direct supervision of the Commander of the Navy. It provides financial assistance to its members and their families during death, critical illnesses, permanent and partial disability, general illnesses, surgery and medical tests.
