Alligator Exercise by SL Navy Marines comes to a successful end in Vakarei
 

Marines of the SLN Marine Battalion which was established following a concept of the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, together with Sri Lanka Army Commando and Special Forces personnel successfully executed the Alligator Exercise today (July, 05).

The exercise held in Vakarei beach was participated by 100 SLN Marines, 30 Commandos and same number of Special Forces personnel. The prime motive of the exercise was to amplify the operational readiness, in collaboration with allied forces, to withstand any form of threat posed by an enemy both from the sea and land, SLNS Ranawijaya, Landing Craft 821 and 04 Inshore Patrol Craft were engaged in the exercise.

Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Travis Sinniah, General Officer Commanding, 22 Division, Major General Anura Jayasekara and Director Naval Land Operations, Commodore UI Serasinghe were present on the occasion, observing the proceedings of the exercise.
