Navy crowned Dialog Rugby Inter Club 7’s champions for the first time
 

Navy clinched its first ever championship at the Dialog Rugby Inter Club 7’s Championship which worked off on 11th June 2017 at the Racecourse Ground, Colombo. Beating the CR & FC by 21 points to 17 the Navy managed to clinch the title with crowning glory.

 Navy’s PLS Dhananjaya, NKVB Piyarathne and KGC Chandimal secured one try each in the closely fought encounter and the team’s captain Thilina Weerasinghe made the 3 conversions perfect to seal the victory for the men in blue. Meanwhile, NKVB Piyarathne of the Navy was adjudged the best player of the tournament. 

The Navy team consisted of TM Weerasinghe  - Captain, JAN Prasad, MK Thisera, MDC Fernando, PLS Dhananjaya , NKVB Piyarathne, KGC Chandimal, DS Handapangoda, IPRD Dharmapala, WAS Dilshan, HMLL Herath and Mohomad Abzal
