Navy arrests 3 fishermen engaged in illegal fishing practices
 

Naval personnel attached to the North Central Naval Command arrested 3 local fishermen engaged in illegal fishing activities using unauthorized fishing nets in the seas off Vedithalathivu today (05th June).

During the arrest, a dinghy, an outboard motor, an unauthorized fishing net, a goggle and a diving mask were taken into naval custody. The arrested fishermen and fishing gear were handed over to the Fisheries Inspector-Vedithalathivu for onward legal action.
