Navy apprehends three local fishermen engaged in illegal fishing
 

A group of naval personnel attached to the Northern Naval Command apprehended three local fishermen engaged in illegal fishing activities using explosives yesterday (2) in the seas off Northern yesterday (2).

Along with the fishermen, 2 fibre glass dinghies, 30 kg of illegally caught fish, 4 diving masks and 2 pairs of diving fins used for fishing practices were taken into naval custody. The arrested fishermen and their fishing gear were handed over to the Fisheries Inspector-Velani for onward legal action.
