Navy Marines undertake cleaning in Morawaka
 

The Marine personnel are currently engaged in a number of cleaning efforts in Morawaka area, Matara. The efforts are being undertaken to restore the basic infrastructure facilities in the flood ridden area with a view to restoring the routine life of the public who were battered by flash floods triggered by the torrential rain during the past week.

Accordingly, a team of 46 Marine personnel has been deployed in various cleaning tasks as of now. Consequently, they are extending assistance to undertake repair work to the Uvaragala – Ilukpitiya Bridge damaged by flash floods. Meanwhile, another group of SLN Maries is currently engaging in cleaning of roads and contaminated wells in Morawaka, Naya Mulla, Galdola and Palawatta localities.
