Navy apprehends a person for keeping explosive by illegal means
 

A group of naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command, during a search, apprehended a person for keeping explosive in his possession by illegal means, in Erakkandi general area, Nilaveli yesterday (17).

This explosive is popularly used in illegal fishing activities by some fishermen. Along with the suspect, 400g of Water Gel, a safety fuse of 2 feet and 10 non-electric detonators were taken into naval custody. The arrested person and explosive were handed over to the Kuchchaweli Police for onward legal action.
