Naval personnel in Northern Naval Command engage in blood donation campaigns
 

Fostering the Sri Lanka Navy’s social responsibility efforts and marking the ‘Ranaviru Commemoration Day – 2017’ a large number of naval personnel volunteered themselves to donate blood at a donation campaign held at the Northern Province Central Blood Bank of the Teaching Hospital Jaffna on 09^th May 2017.

This blood donationprogramme was organized by the Governors’ Secretariat of the Northern Province. Naval personnel extended their fullest cooperation for this noble effort, under guidance of Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jayantha De Silva. 

Meanwhile, another blood donation campaign was conducted at SLNS Gotaimbara, on Punguduthive Island with the assistance of a medical team from the Northern Province Central Blood Transfusion Service attached to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital. The blood donation camp was held on 02^nd May 2017 in parallel with the 18th anniversary of SLNS Gotaimbara. A large number of naval personnel voluntarily donated blood which could be of inexpressible value to the innocent local community in the Northern Province.
