Suspect nabbed with 55 gelignite sticks
 

On receipt of an intelligence tip-off to the Navy, a group of naval personnel attached to the Eastern Naval Command in coordination with Division Vice Squad, Trincomalee apprehended a suspect with 7.425 kg of gelignite (55 ticks) in general area, Kinniya today (17).

The gelignite sticks which were being transferred by a three-wheeler, are, suspected to be used in illegal fishing practices. The apprehended suspect along with the sticks of gelignite was handed over to the Kinniya Police for further investigations.
