Northern Naval Command conducts Field Medical Clinic at Analathive Island
The Northern Naval Command of the Sri Lanka Navy, in partnership with Teaching Hospital in Jaffna and Regional Health Services Director in Jaffna conducted a special field medical clinic at the divisional hospital in Analathive Island yesterday (9).
As part of the Sri Lanka Navy’s Corporate Social Responsibility Project which is being implemented on the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunartne, the Medical Clinic was held under the patronage of the Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jayantha de Silva.
Jaffna Teaching Hospital Director Dr. Sathyamoorthi, also attended at the clinic to make the Medical Clinic more success. Patients belong to 538 families including the newly resettled civilians in Analathive Island in Jaffna district were benefited from the clinic.
Several consultants and specially qualified professionals in the fields of pediatrics, obstetrics/ gynecology, general surgery, ENT diseases, ophthalmology, general medicine, endocrinology, oncology took part at the field medical clinic assisted by required paramedical staff. Screening of chronic non communicable diseases, child health problems, oral/dental disease, old age health problem, antenatal care and women health care treatment were given at tertiary care level by medical staff of teaching hospital, Jaffna. All laboratory investigations and medications were offered free of charge at the clinic.
