JMSDF ‘Teruzuki’ arrives at the Port of Colombo
 

Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force (JMSDF) Ship, ‘Teruzuki’, arrived at the Port of Colombo on a goodwill and training visit today (1). The ship was welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions on her arrival.

Subsequently, the Commander Escort Division VI, Captain Masashi Kondou and Commanding Officer of ‘Teruzuki’ Commander Seiichi Hashimoto called on the Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Niraja Attygalle at the Western Naval Command Headquarters and held cordial discussions on range of matters of bilateral importance. Mementoes were also exchanged to mark the significance of this occasion.

The ship which is on a two day official visit in Sri Lanka is expected to engage in several naval exercises with the Sri Lanka Navy with a view of sharing professional expertise and strengthening mutual relationship between the two friendly maritime forces.

In addition, JMSDF ships; ‘Kashima’, ‘Setoyuki’ and ‘Asagiri’ on 7^th October, ‘Inazuma’ and ‘Suzutsuki’ on 24^th July and JMSDF ‘Kirisame’ on 4^th December in 2016 made ports of call in Colombo on goodwill, replenishment and training visits.
