The second Logistics Conference concludes on successful note in Trincomalee
 

The Logistics Conference - 2017 organized by the Sri Lanka Navy for the second consecutive year, on the theme “‘Fostering Strategic Partnerships for Maritime Logistics’” was held today (24) at the Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda Auditorium in Trincomalee. The mega event was organized by the student officers of the 3rd Long Logistics Management Course of Naval & Maritime Academy.

The Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and the keynote address was delivered by the Senior Professor of the Department of Transport & Logistics Management, University of Moratuwa Professor Amal S Kumarage.

This year’s event was instigated with a wider participation of logistics professionals and academics of foreign Navies, sister services, national and private universities, government organisations, renowned corporate sector organisations and other similar institutions of Sri Lanka.

The conference was organized to broaden the knowledge of all participants through gaining proficiency in the field of logistics. Development of know-how of the logisticians in contemporary logistics and harnessing logistic awareness of all other branch officers, acquiring and sharing logistics knowledge and techniques of corporate sector intellectuals through their speeches / papers were among the objectives of this year’s conference.
