Sri Lankan cultural events make the evening glamourous onboard Sayura in Malaysia
 

The Sri Lanka Navy Ship Sayura which is attending the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA-2017) hosted a colourful reception onboard, last evening (21). At the invitation of the Commanding Officer of the ship, Commodore Prasanna Amaradasa, the occasion was graced by Head of Hydrography - Royal Malaysian Navy, Rear Admiral Dato' Fadzilah Bin Mohd Salleh, as the Chief Guest. Meanwhile, the State Minister of Defence, Hon. Ruwan Wijewardene who is currently in Langkawi, Malaysia, the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Navy, Rear Admiral Sririmevan Ranasinghe, former Commander of the Navy, Admiral (Retd) Thisara Samarasinghe and a group of officers were also present on this occasion.

Representing the Royal Malaysian Navy , Commander Naval Education and Training, Rear Admiral Dato' Rusli Bin Ramli, Deputy Commander Naval Education and Training, First Admiral Zualkafly Bin Haji Ahmad, Commander of Naval Region and Malaysia, First Admiral Rusli Bin Ahmad and a host of officers attended this flamboyant evening.

Sri Lankan cuisine prepared onboard was served in an impressive style to the guests displaying wide varieties of local food culture. The reception which was organized giving prominence to the Sri Lankan traditions and culture, was made even more vivid with the exciting performances of the Navy oriental band.

As part of the LIMA 2017, a wide spectrum of events including cultural displays, a fleet review and naval and air exercises have been lined up. The exhibition is scheduled to draw final curtains on 25th of this month.
