SLNS SAMUDURA ENTERS COLOMBO ON SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF AMAN – 17
SLNS Samudura, entered Colombo harbour Thursday (23 Feb), on completion of a successful voyage, representing Sri Lanka at the AMAN – 17, International Maritime Naval Exercise at Karachi, Pakistan.
The offshore patrol vessel (OPV), sailed on 03 February from Colombo, along with a crew of 186 including 08 Maldivian National Defence Force personnel. The vessel was ceremonially received at the Colombo harbour in keeping with the naval customs and traditions. Commanding officer, SLNS Samudura Captain Jagath Premarathne subsequently paid a courtesy call to the Western Naval Area Commander Niraja Attygalle and briefed on the passage, exercises and related professional experiences gained.
AMAN – 17, International fleet exercises attracted navies from 36 countries from 10-14 February.
