Commander of the Navy offers floral tribute to Muhammad Ali Jinnah Mausoleum in Karachi
 

The Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunartne, during his official visit to Pakistan, took time off to visit the Muhammad Ali Jinnah Mausoleum also known as the National Mausoleum, in Karachi today (13). The Commander of the navy also offered floral tribute to the Mausoleum which is considered as the final resting place of the founder of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah as well as his sister Fatima Jinnah (Mother of the Nation) and Liaquat Ali Kahn (the first Prime Minister of Pakistan).

This historic tomb was completed in the 1960s, is an iconic symbol throughout the world. Also, it is one of the most popular tourist destinations among foreign visitors to Karachi. Besides, a number of official and military ceremonies take place here on special occasions.

This significant occasion was also attended by the Defence Attaché of the Pakistan High Commission in Sri Lanka and a host of naval officers from both navies.
