Italian Naval Ship ‘Carabiniere’ arrives at the Port of Colombo
The Italian Naval Ship ‘Carabiniere’ arrived at the Port of Colombo this morning (11) on a goodwill visit. The ship was ceremonially welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions on her arrival.
Upon arrival, the Commanding Officer of the ship, Lieutenant Commander Francesco Pagnotta paid a courtesy call on the Commander Western Naval Area, Rear Admiral Jayantha De Silva at the Western Naval Command Headquarters in Colombo. They held cordial discussions and exchanged mementos to mark the occasion.
The ship is scheduled to stay at Colombo Harbour until 14th January and the ship’s crew is expected to participate in several programmes and PASSEX with SLN Ships, organized by the Sri Lanka Navy in view of strengthening mutual relations, during their stay in Sri Lanka.
