Sri Lanka Navy Practical Shooting Team records impressive performances at the Asia-Pacific Handgun Championship
The Sri Lanka Navy Practical Shooting Team who emerged shooting champions at the Defence Services Games, took part in the Asia-Pacific Handgun Championship held in Pattaya, Thailand from 07th to 11th December 2016. The competition was attended by around 300 shooters representing 17 countries. Among them were well known champion shooters from the Asia-Pacific region.
The Sri Lanka Navy women's shooting team represented by Woman Petty Officer WGS Priyadarshani, Woman Leading Seaman US Rodrigo and Woman Leading Seaman WMNR Kumari won the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places respectively in the Open Division category. Meanwhile Leading Seaman RDS Premashantha won the Silver Medal in the Men's Standard Division. Honouring the Woman Leading Seaman US Rodrigo with a Gold Medal by the President of the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) marked a significant milestone in the tournament.
