Foundation stone laid for a Slipway in Kayts
 

The foundation stone laying ceremony for the proposed slipway in Kayts Island was held under the patronage of Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Piyal De Silva on 2nd December 2016. The construction work on the slipway got underway following the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne and under careful supervision of Commander Northern Naval Area.

The foundation stone laying ceremony was also attended by Divisional Secretary of Kayts, Mrs. E. Anton Yoganayagam, senior officers and residents in the area. Once the slipway is completed, the boat owners in the island sector will be able to carry out repair work on their boats conveniently.
