Newly constructed Eluvaitivu Jetty Extension declared open
 

The Eluvaitivu Jetty Extension which was constructed as per the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne and under the financial provision of Ministry of Rehabilitation and Resettlement utilizing skilled labour and technical know-how of the naval personnel of Northern Naval Command was declared open today (2).

The construction work of the jetty was carefully supervised by Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Piyal De Silva since its beginning. The Government Agent of Jaffna Mr. N. Vethanahayan attended the opening ceremony as the Chief Guest. Commander Northern Naval Area, officers, sailors and residents in the area were also present on the occasion.
