Commander of the Air Force calls on Commander of the Navy
 

Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy called on Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne at the Naval Headquarters this morning (23). The visiting Air Force Commander was accorded with a Guard of Honour in accordance with naval traditions upon his arrival. The occasion also marked the first official meeting of Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy, with Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, upon taking over duties as Commander of the Air Force.

Having warmly welcomed the visiting Air Force Commander by Commander of the Navy, the top-brass of the Navy and Air Force held cordial discussions on matters of mutual interest and bilateral importance. The courtesy meeting came to an end with the exchange of mementoes symbolizing the long-standing ties of the two sister services. The occasion was also attended by Director Generals and senior officers from the Naval Headquarters.
