US Naval Ship “USS Somerset” arrives at the Port of Trincomalee

The US Naval Ship, “USS Somerset” arrived at the Port of Trincomalee on a training visit today (22). The ship was ceremonially welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions on her arrival.

During the four-day official visit, the crew of “USS Somerset” is scheduled to take part in an array of programmes organized by the Sri Lanka Navy. Accordingly, the ship’s crew will also visit places with historic attraction in Naval Dockyard, Trincomalee. “USS Somerset” is expected to leave Sri Lanka on 26^th November, having conducted several naval exercises with the Sri Lanka Navy.
