Northern Naval Command conducts another field medical clinic in Mathagal
 

As part of the Sri Lanka Navy’s community development and social responsibility project carried out under the directives of Commander of the Navy Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, Northern Naval Command conducted a field medical clinic at Nunasi Vidyalaya in Mathagal on 14th November 2016. The programme was held under the patronage of the Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Piyal de Silva.

A large number of newly resettled civilian population in Mathagal area in Jaffna District benefited from the clinic and they highly appreciated the naval community development and social responsibility work conducted in the island sector of Jaffna Peninsula.

Treatments were given for communicable, non-communicable and respiratory diseases, child health problems, oral diseases, acute and chronic medical/surgical illnesses, adolescent and old age health issues. Antenatal and women health care at primary level were also looked into during the clinic. Patients who needed specialized care were referred to the Teaching Hospital Jaffna. Screening for chronic non communicable diseases was also made with basic laboratory investigations to ensure early identification of diseases in the community. Medicine and nutritional supplements for the clinic were provided free of charge by the Thriposha Lanka Ltd, State Pharmaceutical Corporation (SPC), Hemas Pharmaceutical and Interpharma Ltd.
