Naval personnel attached to SLNS Kashyapa located in Vakarai in the Eastern Naval Command arrested 9 local fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing activities using monofilament nets in the sea area off Muhathuvaram yesterday (6).

Sri Lanka Navy arrested 2 persons who were attempting to smuggle approximately 5 kg of Gold to India by a fishing boat yesterday (6) evening.

As part of the Sri Lanka Navy’s community development and social responsibility projects implemented under the visionary concept of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, the Northern Naval Command conducted a field health clinic at the Ayyanar Preschool on Analaitivu Island on 6th November 2016.

Following the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, the Sri Lanka Navy implemented two more community service programmes in Vavuniya and Nochchiyagama areas focusing on the wellbeing of the general public who is deprived of safe drinking water.
