Commander of the Navy attends the annual Indo- Sri Lanka ‘Defence Cooperation Dialogue’ held in Colombo
Reviewing the defence cooperation between India and Sri Lanka, the annual Indo-Sri Lanka ‘Defence Cooperation Dialogue’ was held for the fourth consecutive year in Colombo yesterday (3). The Indian defence delegation was led by Indian Defence Secretary Mr. G. Mohan Kumar at the invitation of Secretary to the Ministry of Defence Eng. Karunasena Hettiarachchi. Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne also attended this year’s dialogue.
During the meeting, the participants from India and Sri Lanka extensively discussed range of defence matters of mutual interest and bilateral importance. Since its inception in 2012, the Annual Indo - Sri Lanka Defence Cooperation Dialogue reviews the entire scope of defence cooperation between both countries while expanding its areas of interests.
The Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, His Excellency Y. K. Sinha, Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke, Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Crishantha de Silva senior officials from both defence ministries and military representatives from both countries also took part in the dialogue.
