Navy apprehends 9 local fishermen engaged in illegal fishing activities
 

Naval personnel attached to Fast Attack Craft P 4446, deployed in the Eastern Naval Command, arrested 9 fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing practices in the sea area off Pulmudai yesterday (27). Along with the suspects, 2 dinghies and an unauthorized net were also taken into custody by the Navy. Having brought the fishermen and items to the naval base SLNS Walagamba located in Kuchchaveli, they were handed over to the Kuchchaveli Police for further investigations.
