The Bangladesh naval ships, BNS “Somudra Avijan” and BNS “Somudra Joy” arrived at the Port of Colombo today (29) on a goodwill visit.

Following the directives of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, the Sri Lanka Navy has been implementing a number of community service programmes for the benefit of the general public across the country.

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Parakumba located in Sampoor in the Eastern Naval Command, during their routine sea patrol, arrested 2 local fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing activities in the sea area off Sampoor yesterday (28).
