Naval personnel attached to SLNS Parakumba located in Sampoor in the Eastern Naval Command, during their routine sea patrol, arrested 2 local fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing activities in the sea area off Sampoor yesterday (28). Along with the suspects the dinghy used for fishing activities was also taken into custody.

The apprehended persons and the dinghy were produced to Mutur Fisheries Inspector for onward action.
