Navy installs a Reverse Osmosis Plant in Kebithigollewa
As part of the Sri Lanka Navy’s community service programmes carried out with the intention of preventing Chronic Interstitial Nephritis in Agricultural Communities (CINAC), a Reverse Osmosis system was installed in Gonahathdenawa, Kebithigollewa for the community use and it was declared open by Commander North Central Naval Area, Commodore Merill Wickramasinghe yesterday (2).
Navy’s Research and Development unit utilized their expertise and technical know-how to build this RO plant which was a prerequisite in this area where a lot of civilians have been deprived of safe drinking water. However due to the serious cause of concern of the Sri Lanka Navy over the CINAC, now the residents of the area are benefited by safe drinking water. A host of officers, sailors and a large number of residents of the area were also present on the occasion.
