US Navy ship ‘USS Frank Cable’ arrives at the Port of Colombo
The US Navy ship “USS Frank Cable” arrived at the Port of Colombo on 29th August 2016 on a goodwill visit. The Land-class Submarine Tender was ceremonially welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy in accordance with naval traditions on her arrival. Subsequently, the Commanding Officer of ‘USS Frank Cable’ Captain Drew St. John paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Area Commander of Western Naval Area, Commodore Senarath Wijesooriya at the Western Naval Command Headquarters in Colombo. They held cordial discussions and exchanged mementoes to mark the occasion.
USS Frank Cable, which is on a four-day official visit to Sri Lanka, is scheduled to participate in an array of programmes organized by the Sri Lanka Navy. Accordingly, the ship crew is scheduled to compete in several games of Cricket, Baseball and Basketball with their naval counterparts and she is due to leave Sri Lanka on 1st September.
