Navy arrests 4 local fishermen engaged in illegal fishing using unauthorized nets
 

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Lankapatuna in Eastern Naval Command, arrested 4 local fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing practices in the seas off Motuwaram yesterday (27). Along with the suspects a dinghy, a purseseine net and a diving mask used for fishing were taken into naval custody.

The arrested items were handed over to Trincomalee Assistant Directorate of Fisheries for further investigations.
