Navy arrests 8 local fishermen engaged in illegal fishing
 

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Gotabaya located in Mullaitivu in the Eastern Naval Command apprehended 8 local fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing activities in the seas off Nayaru yesterday (24). Along with the suspects 2 dinghies, a diving mask, a GPS unit and an unauthorized fishing net were taken into naval custody.

The apprehended persons and their items were produced to Mullaitivu Police for further investigations.
