Navy installs a Reverse Osmosis Plant at Hambegamuwa
As yet another project of the Sri Lanka Navy’s community service programmes carried out with the intention of preventing Chronic Kidney Disease, a Reverse Osmosis system was installed at the premises of Hambegamuwa Rajamaha Viharaya for the community use and it was declared open Project Director of the Presidential Task force on Prevention of Kidney Disease, Mr. Asela Iddawela yesterday (12).
Navy’s Research and Development unit utilized their expertise and technical know-how to build this RO plant which was a prerequisite in this area where a lot of civilians have been deprived of safe drinking water. However due to the serious cause of concern of the Sri Lanka Navy over the Chronic Kidney Disease, now the residents of the area are benefited by safe drinking water.
Divisional Secretary of Thanamalwila Divisional Secretariat, Mr. Kelum Nishantha, former Deputy Minister of Planatation Industries, Mr. Jagath Pushpakumara, Deputy Area Commander Southeastern Naval Area, Commodore Sudath Kurukulasooriya, senior officers and a large number of residents of the area were also present on the occasion.
