Navy renders assistance to rescue a critically ill patient
Sri Lanka Navy rendered assistance to transfer a critically ill fisherman ashore, who was onboard a multiday fishing vessel named “Subodha III” in the Southern seas of Sri Lanka yesterday (19). Naval personnel onboard SLNS Suranimila reached the location to rescue the patient following the directives received from the Naval Headquarters Operations Room through satellite communication.
Accordingly the patient on “Subodha III”, was quickly transferred to the SLN ship in the seas 150 Nautical Miles off Galle at midnight and he was given prompt first aid treatment. The patient who was down with dehydration which was aggravated by rough sea condition, was subsequently handed over to the Navy’s Fast Attack Craft P 435 to rush ashore for further medical treatment today (20).
