Commander of the Navy gives away appointment letters to 34 newly enlisted Officer Cadets
Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne gave away appointment letters to 34 newly enlisted Officer Cadets of the 58th Intake of officers, in a ceremony held at Admiral Somathilaka Auditorium at Naval Headquarters today (1).
The Officer Cadets were enlisted to the Executive, Supply, Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering and Provost branches in the Navy. Addressing the gathering Commander of the Navy congratulated all the prospective officers at the outset and reminded them to serve the motherland with utmost respect and pride whilst preserving the age old traditions of the Sri Lanka Navy. Further he advised the young blooded Officer Cadets to perform their duty with dignity as they are vested with a huge responsibility being a member of the armed forces. Vice Admiral Wijegunaratne also thanked the parents for giving the consent to their beloved children to serve the motherland with a noble resolve.
Director General Personnel, Rear Admiral Sisira Jayakody, Director Naval Training, Commodore Priyantha Perera, senior officers and family members of Officer Cadets were also present on the occasion.
