Navy arrests 5 persons engaged in harvesting of sea cucumbers without licence
 

Naval personnel attached to SLNS Welusumana located in Mandative in the Northern Naval Area attested 5 persons along with 142 Sea Cucumbers, harvested without valid licence, in Palaikuda beach area yesterday (24). Two Fiber Glass Dinghies were also taken into custody during the arrest. The arrested persons along with the FGDs and Sea Cucumbers were handed over to the Poonaryn Fisheries Inspector for onward legal actions.
