Navy apprehends 6 local fishermen engaged in illegal fishing
 

On receipt of information, naval personnel attached to SLNS Lankapatuna in Eastern Naval Area arrested 6 local fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing activities in the lagoon area of Serunuwara yesterday (02). Along with the suspects a dinghy, a monofilament net, a diving mask and a pair of diving fins used for fishing activities were also taken into custody.

The apprehended persons and the items were produced to Serunuwara Police for onward action.
