Flag Officer Commanding in Chief of the Southern Naval Command of Indian Navy visits Trincomalee
 

The Flag Officer Commanding in Chief of the Southern Command of Indian Navy, Vice Admiral and Mrs Girish Luthra, who are on a six-day official visit in Sri Lanka, toured the Naval Dockyard Trincomalee yesterday (15).

Vice Admiral Luthra was awarded with a Guard of Honour upon his arrival at the Naval Dockyard Trincomalee and was warmly received by the Commander Eastern Naval Area and Deputy Chief of Staff of the Navy, Rear Admiral Neil Rosayro. They held cordial discussion on the matters of bilateral importance, during their official meeting held in Trincomalee.

Further the visiting Admiral and Mrs. Luthra were accompanied on a tour in the Naval Dockyard premises. Besides they took time off to visit the Naval and Maritime Academy to see the available training facilities. Vice Admiral Luthra was received by the Commandant Naval and Maritime Academy Commodore Rohitha Perera and the directing staff of NMA.

On completion of the visit to the 4th Fast Attack Flotilla (FAF 4), the delegation went onboard a Fast Attack Craft to see the Trincomalee harbour and it’s surrounding sea area. Commodore Nandana Jayarathne and a host of senior naval officers were also present on this occasion. At the culmination of the official visit, the Commander Eastern Naval Area and senior naval officers of the command hosted a dinner for the Vice Admiral and Mrs Luthra and mementos were also exchanged to mark this visit.
